Kim Ji-won of “Queen of Tears” has been selected as the new face of soju brand, Cheoeum Cheoreom. On March 26th, South Korea’s famous soju brand, Cheoeum Cheoreom announced Kim Ji-won as its new model.
The soju brand ended its one-year contract with the previous model, Han So-hee, earlier this month. Because Cheoeum Cheoreom typically renew advertisement model contract for a relatively long period of time, it was an unusual move for them to terminate Han So-hee’s contract after only one year. Many suspect that the scandal involving Han So-hee’s love affair with Ryu Jun-yeol might have negatively affected the contract.
“Her contract expired before the scandal,” Cheoeum Cheoreom explained, “and recent market trend is changing with dizzying speed and short-term contracts are preferred.”
Cheoeum Cheoreom models are often ranked among the top female celebrities of their time in Korea, as seen with their previous models, including Bankpink’s Jennie and idol-turned-actress Suzy.
Kim Ji-won is currently in the spotlight thanks to the success of “Queen of Tears”. Although Kim Ji-won has always been known for her steady and reliable acting performance, with the immense success of “Queen of Tears,” even her looks and style are in the series drawing much attention. Kim Ji-won will definitely rise to one of the top-level actresses after this.
